Sergei is the grandson of a colonel who left Russia during the revolution and settled in Denmark. At a young age, Sergei and his fiancée marry secretly in Sweden. After university, they go to the Soviet Union as diplomats. Together with a general from the KGB, they travel across Siberia by car. Can they recruit the general, or will he recruit them? Sergei’s meeting with the Russian culture and the country’s tragic sufferings during the Great Patriotic War change him gradually. The promises given by the NATO-Alliance to the Soviet Union and the later NATO expansion change his view on the world. What will they do?
